Stephanie Askew
Founder & President
For Stephanie Askew, LoveShell isn’t just an organization — it’s a mission born from love, loss, and an unshakable belief in second chances. A proud Hampton Roads native with over 20 years of leadership experience, Stephanie has dedicated her life to building people-centered organizations that merge strategy, service, and heart. But her most personal and profound work began after losing her sister, Michelle — lovingly known as Shell — a woman whose strength and spirit shined even through her battle with addiction and recovery.
Out of that heartbreak, LoveShell was born — a living tribute to Michelle and to every person fighting to heal, recover, and rebuild their life. Stephanie created LoveShell to be a safe haven for those navigating addiction, trauma, and transition — a place where compassion meets community and hope is met with action.
Under her leadership, LoveShell works to bridge critical gaps in the recovery journey: promoting relapse prevention, providing support for families, and creating access to resources that help individuals sustain long-term healing. Stephanie’s vision is to restore the connection between people and purpose — to remind communities that healing isn’t meant to happen alone, and that love, when shared, has the power to rebuild lives.
“Every person carries a story of resilience. My purpose is to help them remember that their power never disappeared—it’s been waiting to be seen, nurtured, and celebrated.”
